Bridge Of Allan Golf Club

WELCOME TO BRIDGE OF ALLAN GOLF CLUB where the visiting golfer is assured of a memorable golfing experience on our nine hole course designed by Old Tom Morris when the Club was established in 1895.

Our course is acknowledged as being particularly picturesque, offering magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, including Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, the Perthshire hills and to the west Ben Lomond and the Arrochar Alps beyond.

The course is kept in excellent condition and offers the opportunity for golf all year round. Being well drained it is rarely closed due to poor weather conditions. A small practice area and a 9 hole putting green are available.

The visitor is welcomed at most times except when Club competitions take place, and with the minimum of formality. There is no tee time booking, just come up, pay and play.

If you are interested in becoming a member please feel free to download an application form.

The course provides an interesting and enjoyable challenge to all who play it. The low handicapper will need to work hard at their game to come in with par, and yet the high handicap golfer is accommodated by a course that will let them keep their ball in play. 5120 yards; Par 66; SSS 66; SSS 68 (Ladies)

Most golfers would regard the 1st hole (aptly named the Dyke) as Bridge of Allan’s signature hole. This par 3, measuring 223 yards from the Gents medal tee (169 yards from the Ladies tee) requires an uphill drive over a six foot high dyke (stone wall) 175 yards from the tee on to an elevated green beyond. Golf writers often express the opinion that this is the most difficult opening par 3 anywhere. Then on to the Fairy Knowe, an ancient burial mound that features adjacent to the 2nd green. Pause to admire the view from the 3rd tee where our Millennium Cairn viewpoint will highlight the landmarks and mountains set before you. You might want to challenge the Oaks at the par 4 7th for a ‘birdie’ opportunity. And of course the second time around you will have the chance to improve on your score!

So take time out to relax with a drink and relive the highlights of your round, and watch others take on the wall at the 1st from the comfort of your easy chair.
