Busy ‘end of June and beginning of July’!

July 4, 2017 by BOFAGC

A very busy weekend started on Friday with the weekly Seniors Stableford with three players returning 20 points. After countbacks, David Anderson, Alastair Redpath and Alasdair Breingan claimed first, second and third place respectively. The Seniors Championship was also concluded on Friday with Jimmy McKenzie beating Raymond Aimer in the final.  The Juniors also played in their weekly Stableford competition with Andrew Stuart winning on the day with his 19 point total. Scott Huntly was second on 18 points and Sylvester Anker third on 17 points.

The main event of the weekend was the annual AmAm tournament when members and guests took part to raise funds for the club, and was once again kindly sponsored by John Don and BofA Plumbing & Heating Ltd. With the course looking well and greens running true, scoring proved to be excellent with some notable individual performances. In the four man team format, two teams could not be separated and the TFD team comprising  David Thomson, Paul Davidson, John Johnston and Alex Graham, tied with the BofA team made up of Garry Bowman, Russell Kerr, Willie Kerr and Graeme Bowden with a winning score of 115 points. The Yellow Ball competition was won by the local team comprising Hugh Dent, John Russell, David Shaw and Ian Houston with their 40 point score. Cameron Hogg won the longest drive and Alex Graham the nearest the pin competitions.
